Welcome to Dead Zone PvE!  I’m hoping you will have a fun time building and being a part of the community here.  Before you get started you should:

Check out the InfoRules and Commands pages

Install the icon pack:

Manual install .zip: Download

or

Modinfo .zip file: Download

or

Zip to Auto extract Exe :Download

NOTE:  If your browser is not letting you download from the links provided, RIGHT CLICK the link, choose “copy link address”, then post the address into a new window. The downloads should then work.

Installation Instructions:

Manual install .zip:

1. Download the Manual install .Zip file.

2. If there is a Mods folder in your 7 Days To Die folder, please delete or rename it. Old mods can interfere with            the new one.

The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die

3. Create a new folder named Mods

4. Extract the DeadZoneIcons folder from the zip file to the Mods folder you created

5. Restart your game.

Modinfo.zip

This file is for people who have the icons already and need to update the xml to work with V1.0

1. Download the Modinfo .zip file

2. Extract the file and overwrite the old one

Default location is

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods\DeadZoneIcons

If you installed it in another location, you will have to locate the DeadZoneIcons folder and place it in there

If you are having trouble finding your 7 Days to Die folder, go to Steam, right click on the game. Choose Properties/ Local Files/ Browse Local Files. This shows the folder where your 7 Days to Die game was installed, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\

On a Mac, the path will be something like ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/7 Days To Die/

If you see weird characters, e.g., XUI, go to Steam, Right click 7 Days to Die, choose Properties/Local Files/Verify Integrity of Game Files.  Restart the game.

If you are getting errors when you start the server regarding ItemIconsTest, it is due to an old icon pack.  Go to your 7dtd directory, delete the mods folder, and reinstall the latest icon pack. Also go to steam and verify your game files afterwards.
